If your CD-ROM drive supports audio digital extraction (a.k.a. ripping), Expstudio Audio Editor offers two main ways to import tracks from audio CDs for editing and/or format conversion.
The most straightforward method is to use the Open command on the File menu. Here's how:
1. Place an audio compact disc in a CD-ROM drive.
2. Go to File > Open to display Expstudio Audio Editor's Open a Waveform dialog.
3. Use the drop-down control in the Files of type field to change the field to read compact Disc Audio (*.cda)
4. Navigate to the drive that contains your CD-ROM.
5. Click on the .cda file of your choice to open it in Expstudio Audio Editor's Wave Display window.
6. When the recording is complete, click on the Stop button for both the Transport and CD Player controls.
7. Edit the recording (Normalize, Trim, etc.) as needed.
After the CD audio has been placed in Expstudio Audio Editor's Wave Display, you can edit it like any other waveform. Of course, if the CD is a typical read-only compact disc, you won't be able to save those changes back to CD. Instead, save modified CD tracks to a hard drive (or any other drive that can write computer data) as .wav files, or in any other audio format Expstudio Audio Editor supports.
